Third Grade

Ms. Deborah Rosario

Welcome to St. Brigid’s Third Grade.

The Third Grade ELA curriculum is designed to enhance students' reading, writing, and comprehension skills through a variety of engaging texts and activities. Students explore different genres, including fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, fostering a love for reading while developing critical thinking skills. In addition to reading, students engage in writing exercises that promote the use of proper grammar and sentence structure. They learn to express their thoughts clearly and coherently, which is essential for their continued academic success. Beginning in 3rd grade students are encouraged to engage in comparative writing while reading books such as Charlotte’s Web. This pushes our students to mastery in the English Language Arts.

In Mathematics, the curriculum focuses on building a strong foundation in key concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students also learn about basic geometry and measurement, which are crucial for real-world applications. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving skills and the ability to reason mathematically. Preparing for fourth grade involves not only mastering these fundamental skills but also developing the confidence to tackle increasingly complex mathematical concepts. This preparation is essential, as it sets the stage for future academic challenges.

Ms. Rosario's classroom embodies a faith-filled environment where students feel valued and supported in their learning journey. The loving atmosphere she cultivates encourages students to express their thoughts and ideas openly, fostering a sense of community and cooperation. Ms. Rosario integrates moral lessons into her teachings, helping students not only to grow academically but also to develop as compassionate individuals. In her classroom, students are guided by both rigorous standards and heartfelt care, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
